Now here's the thing, it's an absolute criminal offence that the Gents' two wonderful vinyl albums, How it all Began and Waiting to be Seen have never been released on CD. This came up as a idea for consideration around 2 years ago now, in discussion with Detour Records, who are very keen on the idea, but certain ex-members of the band (who in respect for their positions we will not name in a public forum) have decided to withhold their consent for recordings to be used and this has brought the situation to an impasse and so at this point nothing can be released.
However, we at thegents.org.uk feel that there may be a chance that sheer weight of numbers of people making the statement that they would be prepared to buy such material if it were to be made available on CD may, just may be able to used to sway the opinions of the relevant people. Therefore, please PLEASE PLEASE use this poll to let the ex-members of the band know that there is potentially a big sale in the material and that it will make a lot of people happy if they were to acquiesce and allow release of the permissions for the material to be used.
Please then send a follow-up email to simon@5townsquizleague.fsnet.co.uk with a couple of lines about why you think etc etc...which we will print and keep in a folder for presentation to er..someone, someday.
Any comments you may wish to use this forum topic to make on this subject are also very welcome.

Fantastic, first ever post on the Gents forum! You hold the title. And good opinion too. Thanks, now encourage some other people to have a look. Thanks for the email as well, lots of those type of emails is what we're aiming for.

I'd love to buy Gents albums on CD. We saw them loads in the 80's & early 90's and at the moment we have to put up with crackly vinyl and a duff cd bought off a scooter rally. Come on lads..don't be mornjy!! You might actually make a bit o money!
